After a hot and dusty day exploring the 2000-year-old Buddhist temples, vast dagobas and ruinous monasteries of the ancient cities, Ulagalla Resort, ideally located in the heart of the Cultural Triangle, is quite possibly the perfect place to replenish.Within the 58-acre grounds are fantastic views at every turn: neat, unfeasibly green paddy fields, sparkling reservoirs and untamed scrubland. Couples and honeymooners will revel in this secluded, natural setting.
Ulagalla Resort is located in the village of Thirappane, 45km north of Dambulla (on the Dambulla - Anuradhapura road). The ancient city of Anuradhapura is 35km from the resort and the Cultural Triangle sites are nearby. The hotel is set within 58 acres of rural land with stunning views to paddy fields, gardens and reservoirs.
There are 19 stilted chalets and 1 Villa set over 58 acres so each maintains a sense of privacy and space. Inside you get a bedroom and living area with a dining table, a 40" television and an L-shaped sofa scattered with cushions. A dressing room area has a large mirror and dressing table. There's a lovely tea-making area, too, showcasing Sri Lanka’s best tea: Nuwara Eliya BOP, Earl Grey and green tea.
